This unique golf course has two clubs that use one course. @chingfordgolfclub & Royal Epping Forrest Golf Club. The course is owned by the local authority and open for all to play. It appears that it’s also open for anyone to walk & dogs to chase across fairways too...

Firstly, I wasn’t expecting much from my £10 twilight green fee but for that price it was a steal! Standard fees are between £20-30 depending on day and time of play.

This is a Par 71 course weaves it’s way through Epping Forrest, it is a tight course that demands an accurate tee shot to enable a shot at the green, if not you are likely to be blocked out by one of the many trees.

We played after a full day of rain the day prior and greens were unable to be cut so were very wet and fluffy. Often it was hard to get the ball to the hole due to the lack of speed. Fairways were pretty lush and actually up there with the better conditions I have played this summer.

There weren’t much practice facilities, a small putting green next to the first tee and a small practice area between 18 & 1 allowed you to practice some pitch shots but not much else.

Overall, a cracking little course offering great value for money and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
