About the course
Course description
One of only a handful of courses designed by J.F. "Aber" Abercromby, Coombe Hill is a wonderful course steeped in remarkable history (Winston Churchill was amongst the early members, a member base that has produced four Open Champions). It is said that the master architect Abercromby spent many hours walking the land, but also floating over the site in a hot air balloon working on the site design. Today the course is short by modern standards (6,401 yards), but Coombe Hill requires precise tee shots over a wonderful variety of old-school holes.
