I was invited to play this wonderful course with a few ‘old boys’ who were long standing members. It is a course I didn’t even know was there but definitely will come back.

Founded in 1910 this is traditional private members club where the values of the game are respected, friendliness and hospitality are guaranteed.

The Harry Colt design course combines challenge and enjoyment for all levels of golfer. It is in great condition and greens were excellent. Not an unrepaired pitch mark in sight shows this is well looked after by its members and greens were almost as good as their neighbour’s, The Buckinghamshire.

Most holes aren’t long but demand well positioned tee shot to enable you to access the greens from the fairways. Fairways were in good condition and despite the hot dry weather were pretty lush.

There are decent practice facilities, a large putting green & a shortish driving range.

The course is not currently open to visitor green fees due to COVID but expect to pay for £45-£70 depending on time of year.

I understand a lot of members are from London and with its own train station it makes commuting from London to the course very easy and accessible.

If looking to play at a friendly old style golf club you can’t get much better than this.
