Course Description
The course is situated on the slopes of Sydenham Hill with wonderful panoramic views over London from Canary Wharf in the East to Wembley in the West. It was designed by the great Harry Shapland Colt, who is widely recognised as one of the most significant course architects of all time.Relatively short by modern standards at just over 6100 yards, its main defence lies in the small undulating greens and trees that guard doglegs and approaches putting a premium on accuracy and touch over distance. In recent years the Club has made significant investment in drainage and irrigation to ensure the course is in prime condition whatever the season. Bordered by ancient woodland, nature reserves and allotment gardens it is hard to believe that you are only 5 miles from the centre of London.
